It was very exciting for Elbie and Hoover today. Not only did they get to see the Ollie Monster again - they got to have a doggy play date in a gorgeous open, offleash area with Ollie Monster and Queen Pip herself! ( Read more... )

Ollie's new mum sent some photos last night that made me howl with laughter. As Ollie has not yet earned couch privileges yet, he decided to annex Baby G's pink sofa!!! Playdate with Ollie
Sep. 2nd, 2012 09:28 pmNext weekend we'll go and pick up the crate which was on loan during Ollie's adoption trial, say goodbye to Ollie (*sob* *sob*) and Elbie and Hoover will get a chance to have a play date with the Ollie Monster - and maybe Queen Pip :)

Aug. 31st, 2012 09:36 pmRandom thought - I just realised today why I called Ollie the Ollie-Monster. He's so food motivated than when he eats, he chomps away at his food the way that Cookie Monster chomps at cookies :)
Ollie's trial is going well - so well that it looks like Ollie's new family doesn't even need another week to make up their mind if they're going to keep him!
Not only have they bought him a new soft crate (I didn't even know the crates came in pink! We've only ever bought the cheapie blue ones from TopBuy :) and a "green paws" pet ID tag to go with his green collar, he is also enrolled with the Queanbeyan Dog Club and will start training next term on 14th October. Ollie's new mum, despite having the task of doggy wrangling and settling Ollie into a new home sent us wonderful update on Ollie's first day with him - which we appreciate so much! ( Read more... )
Ollie on trial adoption

It's possible that this is Ollie Monster's last night with us. Tomorrow he goes to meet a wonderful family and if he can be accepted by the resident doggy, he will have a wonderful forever home and the fact that some heartless bastard dumped him at the pound will become a distant memory.
Dan has been persisting and has almost taught Ollie how to beg :) For a while he kept bunny hopping or batting at our hands with his paws but he has almost got the hang of the balanced 'beg' position. He is such a clever boy. Video beneath the cut. ( Read more... )

Ollie had another great trip to the dog park today. He played with all sorts of different dogs and best of all, got to interact with a very small child. We don't have kids, cats or small dogs so are always pleased when Ollie gets to interact with any of the former :)
