It's been a long hard slog, but Dodge is finally calmer around the puppies. I felt so awful having to constantly segregate them, but they would wind him up, he would get excited and wind them up and then it would be chaos.

We still have to crate him when they are in the yard though otherwise he does crazy OCD circles around the yard up on the higher level which drives the puppies crazy because we won't want them up there when the bigger dogs are there in case they follow and do the big jumps. Inside he's getting much calmer.

Dodge is now listed here on the AWDRI website. He's not ready for adoption but his listing is there in case people are interested in following his progress.

He has been such a good boy since being desexed. Almost no licking so it has not been necessary to put a cone of shame on him. The vet seemed to like him and Dan said that the vet said that Dodge was wonderful :) ( Read more... )

Dodge had a great time today - he went to Casey Dog park with Elbie and Hoover where he played with 3 AWDRI dogs - Liberty the Australian Cattle Dog and Chip and Dale the two little cattle dog/corgi crosses who were recently rescued from DAS. ( Read more... )

Pup has made himself right at home :)



He had fun tonight - he had a play date over at Therese's while Elbie and Hoover were at agility - met cats, Benji and played with Therese's small white fluffies again :)

He is really starting to come out of his shell although he's still very skittish. He'll approach me when I'm standing - which is a big improvement. Baby steps :)

Dodge has come into care with us because his owners have not reclaimed him. He is not desexed, not microchipped and had no name tag. He also appears very timid.

He is totally fine with other dogs and gets along with our dogs fine. He is very frightened of new people although not hand-shy etc and once he has settled, is very affectionate. Absolutely no signs of aggression. ( Read more... )
