Former AWDRI dogs Baxter and Dodge
Jan. 20th, 2013 04:10 pmIn advance of Baxter (Nova) staying with us for a week in Febuary while his mum and dad get married, Baxter and Dodge had a meet and greet to make sure they got along. Baxter of course knows Elbie and Hoover from when we were fostering him - but he's never met Dodge before. ( Read more... )

Nova update
Sep. 14th, 2012 09:12 pmOnly exactly day 6 of the trial adoption period (just like Ollie's family), Nova's family have cut the trial period short and decided to keep him! Yay for Nova!
In other news - Nova is now known as Baxter. Will drop by to say goodbye to the pup on Sunday and perhaps take a few happy snaps :)

Tomorrow, Nova goes to start his two week trial adoption. He has come so far in such a short period of time.
He has learned to drop, stay, spin, beg, speak and crawl and he was also crate trained. He also stopped barking when left alone in the backyard. Best of all, he has put on some weight, got a nice, shiny coat and has learned to play nice with our doggies. ( Read more... )

Nova's going on trial adoption on Saturday. While we're of course very happy for him - we will miss him. This is going to be my second farewell to a dear doggy in as many weeks. This part of fostering isn't easy at all for me. ( Read more... )
Not much to update today because poor Nova spent most of today outside alone in his anti-bark training. He didn't bark a single time which is great news so will be ready to start on his trial adoption at a time suitable to his prospective family.

Day 10 and it's time Nova had a nickname. After all, Ollie was the Ollie Monster, Hoover is Hooves, Hoovey, Poover and M'sieur Hoovér and Elbie is Signor Elborino, Elborino, Elbinator, Elbster, Elbo and of course - Little Bastard.
Sometimes I call him Nova, Noves or Novey. He could also be Novatel or Nova-caine. Nova Dog sounds like a super hero. Dan suggests the Bossa Nova :) Dan also calls him Sir Serious and Sirius.
In other news, his No Barking training is going well. He got one squirt in the face from his collar, yelped once and then was silent for the rest of his time outside. Good job, Nova! :) Here's a video of some of today's happenings. ( Read more... )
