koalathebearOllie's trial is going well - so well that it looks like Ollie's new family doesn't even need another week to make up their mind if they're going to keep him!
Not only have they bought him a new soft crate (I didn't even know the crates came in pink! We've only ever bought the cheapie blue ones from TopBuy :) and a "green paws" pet ID tag to go with his green collar, he is also enrolled with the Queanbeyan Dog Club and will start training next term on 14th October.
Ollie's as food mad as ever - naughty boy - and simply cannot control himself when there's food on the scene.
His new family has his measure though and they're keeping an eye on him.
He's gentle with the kids and seems to be getting along with Queen Pip as well. I am wondering if we're ever going to get photo of Pip and Ollie sharing a bed one of these days.
I love that he's winning friends and influencing people. He has met his 'grandparents' and his 'grand doggies' - two yorkie x jack russells.
I miss him very much - he of the googoo eyes, the "pat him and he collapses onto his back for you to rub his belliness" and his sweet nature but I am also very happy that he has found such a wonderful home to love him.
When he first arrived in our home, he was so sick and wretched - it could be that the kennel cough vaccine made him react very strongly because he was in a weakened condition. Being in cold kennels in winter probably didn't help either. We didn't sleep for the first few nights and neither did he because of his horrible wracking cough. Here's how it sounded.
He would stagger around gasping, coughing up foam and sometimes he would just look so sad and pitiful. He always managed a wag of the tail and a little smile up at us though no matter how awful his cough was. Dan also figured out that if he could get to Ollie soon enough and start stroking him, this seemed to calm him down and make his cough less severe. Those days are now well and truly behind him and you only have to see these photos to know that he's finally home.
