We practised leaving Twiggy outside on her own today. She was out there for a couple of hours. She didn't bark but whined a little and banged on the dog door. Then I put her in her crate and practised going outside. She panicked but I was back before she could break out again.
When Dan went out, I put her in her crate and she was fine - probably because I was still at home. We'll keep working on it!
She is doing nicely with a lured spin. Interestingly, all of our other dogs prefer to turn anti-clockwise when they spin but Twiggy prefers clockwise. I should be able to remove the lure soon and see if she'll do it on a verbal cue.
Some photos of Twiggy and the dogs tonight.

I've been going through adoption applications for Twiggy. It's one of the trickier parts of fostering. Pretty much everyone who applies is a lovely person and would offer an awesome life to a dog. The difficult thing is finding the right home for the dog in question. All fosters are different and will be compatible with different homes.
Placing the wrong dog with a family leads to heartache and it's always difficult to know up front how it's going to be. Smudge and Juniper had quite a lot of applications before I found their Forever Homes. Baxter's owners actually applied for Ollie to start with but we thought that Baxter was a better fit.
I'm back to work tomorrow but will keep working on Twiggy's separation issues outside of work hours. She's off to the vet Wednesday morning for desexing so is likely to be pretty groggy on Wednesday - we'll also have to make sure she doesn't pull her stitches as well.
