Dyson's doing so well in foster care.

Beautiful in the car, whether in a care or in a car harness

Chills out beautifully and has an offswitch inside

Last week he went to dog school and was great. Calm, behaved well around the other dogs and was nice and focused. He went in the adult dog class and lasted the whole hour. We were very impressed with him.

After class, waiting to go home:

After he stole underwear from the bathroom when I was having a shower :)

He loves stretching out on the heat vent under my desk

He was sleeping a travel crate and seems to love it. He puts himself to bed by himself at night and even during the day will seek the crate out and sleep in it.

Thing is he's getting a bit big for the crate so last night he slept in a dog bed instead of a crate

He's great and will lie in his crate/bed until it's time to get up. He's happy to sleep in if we are sleeping in.

Getting a bit big for the mat to his puppy dog bed

He loves cuddles

He came with us today to vote in the ACT elections. Got lots of pats.

His socialialisation is going well. He's gone to the dog park twice, hangs outside my office when Dan picks me up from work, has hung out outside shopping centres and the Bus Depot Markets.

Behaviour Arrival into care: 1 Oct Update on 15 Oct
House-training So far so good. Seems to have been taught 'quick quick'. Sleeps through the night in a crate or a dog bed without needing to be toileted. No accidents in the house.
Doorway etiquette No manners. Too early. Learning to sit before going through door
Car travel Quiet in the car Quiet in the car in a crate and in a car harness
Mealtime manners No manners. A little bit food aggressive. Waits for food. Looks at human not the food until given permission to eat. No signs of food aggression since day 1
Basic focus work (Watch), sit and drop Will sit but gets impatient Sits and drops. Knows to look at me instead of the food when I hold the food out to the side
Go to your mat/crate/bed Too soon Doesn't go on command but very happy to go to a crate/bed
1-2 camera-friendly tricks Has the beginnings of a shake hands Has the beginnings of a shake hands. Has the beginnings of a spin
Assess friendliness/neutrality Dog friendly but a bit boisterous Gets a bit hyperactive but takes correction well from older dogs.
Assess other behaviours Does not like collar or leash at all and gets very cranky. Also a bit mouthy.

Dyson's Socialisation Checklist
Collar/leash desensitisation is going well. Mild separation issues getting better - when we go out we can leave him in the backyard with another dog or crated.

Optional:
