Rookie is learning how to be a lap dog. He is very gentle and affectionate and seems happy to run around and play in the yard.
No marking incidents since day 1 and he seems to be grasping the concept of inside and outside. He has seriously been the easiest dog to house-train as apart from bit of marking the day he arrived, he's very good about going outside to toilet.
He sleeps quietly in his crate last night without any whimpering.
He was fine being left alone and crated in the Jeep while we were having dinner at mum's - no barking or complaints
He has stopped his restless wandering and is copying the other dogs and just chilling out on the floor while we are on the internet. Definitely has an offswitch.
He got some pats outside my work when Dan picked me up after work although he was quite excited/distracted so he needs more work on being desensitised when in public.
He lets himself out to toilet. He's learned to shake hands and will be quiet and well-behaved when left in a crate at home for a couple of hours.
In terms of food, day 4 in care - after turning up his nose up at kibble for several days, Dan describes breakfast this morning as follows: "Rookie looked at his bowl of kibble, then the others, then stared at me. I told him that's all he gets, then after a pause, he started eating. Finished most of his small portion."
He finished pretty much all of his dinner tonight, which was great. Eats fine around the others.

In acknowledgment of his good behaviour, he has been given more access - free range of kitchen, study and half of the entrance area.
