Edited to add: Louis was adopted from the pound. Awesome news for him! :)
Picking up this guy on Thursday and delivering him to Sydney on Friday.

These are his temperament notes:
Yard 31 Kelpie x "Louie" 11 months
Reason for surrender: Dog breed not suitable for backyard and young family. Adopted from the RSPCA 8mths ago.
Needs room to run and exercise.
Behaviour: Jumping fences, some barking.
Dominate nature: Yes
Good with other dogs: Yes, interested and playful.
Good with cats: Unknown
Good with kids: Yes, older children, needs firm discipline or becomes dominant.
Good on lead: Yes, gentle leader.
Good off lead; Yes will come when called
Has the dog ever escaped your yard:No
When does the dog bark: People walking behind our fence, cars, moving objects.
Toilet trained: Yes
Sleeps indoors.
In cage - lovely and soft in the cage. He barks at dogs going past but once you are in he is very friendly.
Stand and ignore - he did a massive wee that he had been holding in for quite some time by the looks. Checked in with handler
Withdrawal of affection - he enjoyed the pats then checked in a few times and wagged his tail.
Handling - he was happy to be handled and very calm throughout.
Health - he has small hard lumps on his head with some hair missing.
Guide and place - easy into the sit and resisted the drop
Stranger danger - he got very excited when the stranger approached and jumped up in the air like Tigger. Got very excited but at the time the winds were gale force so it was difficult for him.
Kid test - he got excited and stimulated by the doll but backed away from it when it moved forward and just moved around it a little unsure.
Dog to dog - he sat for the approach and licked his lips and allowed the other dog to sniff his face. As the dog moved away he got stimtulated and charged towards it being very jumpy. They met again and sniffed for a while then initiated play, he was a little pushy and put his paws up. Would get stimulated in play.
Food bowl guarding - he just kept eating, very dainty eater.
Correction on the martingale collar - he was not overly responsive on lead but did get better as he went along. It was sooo windy so it was hard for him to concentrate.
Motivated by - treats
Training - he can sit and drop
Fence jumping pen - no signs of fence jumping.
Description: What a stunning looking boy who will only get better with some good food. He is one of the more active kelpies but is totally manageable given the right activity and stimulation. He has some good basic training and walks fairly nicely on lead. He likes people and enjoys attention and pats. He was a little unsure at first when meeting the other dog but then tried to initiate a game. He gets excited and can be jumpy so may be best with older or no children. He would make a great running or walking partner and good loyal companion. Stunning blue boy.
