We were quite worried about their health because some of the other puppies from the same litter were falling ill with symptoms that could be parvo.

We won't know for another 13 days for sure, but so far, so good. Both dogs had runny poo at first and I was worried about Nutmeg's lethargy, but today they both seem very perky and they are eating very well and their poos are solid.

Dan bought them a little 'warm' house from Reject Shop for $25 - seemed like a bargain

Err

Now we know why i twas on special :)

Sophie was kind enough to donate blankets to us.

Tonight, both puppies were doing very well

While we have been focusing on their health rather than starting any training, it seems like I should be starting their progress table.

Progress Table

Day 2

House-training No accidents since the arrival date - they both toilet promptly when taken outside and there have been no accidents in their pen.
Doorway etiquette Still in quarantine so not tested yet.
Car travel Initially noisy in the car but settled down quickly
Mealtime manners Very greedy - like Hungry Hippos. We have managed to get them to wait for about a second :)
Basic focus work (Watch), sit and drop Too early, but they are in the very early stages of learning a sit on command.
Too early Haven't introduced them to the crate yet
1-2 camera-friendly tricks Too early
Assess friendliness/neutrality Have seen our dogs from a distance and seem fine apart from excitement barks.
Assess other behaviours Not very mouthy so far. A little bit jump but that's because they are small. Fine around noisy appliances so far and can sleep through noises.
