Chimes: Day 2 in care. Dog door, food manners and chilling out
Chimes is doing well in care for her second day.
She had two accidents in the house yesterday but it was my fault - first one, I didn't keep an eye on her, second, I didn't let her out fast enough. No messes today though and she has taught herself how to use the dog door. She is doing really well for a dog who hasn't really been a house dog.
Chimes on the sofa

Last night, Ruby the lab came to visit so Chimes met a new dog.

Dan inflicted Coronation Street on her - poor dog

She's doing well in a crate. Doesn't bust out like Twiggy did

We had to put away all the tennis balls. She's not a guarder but she is quite neurotic about tennis balls and has that crazy border collie twitchiness when balls are around. When the balls are put away she is much calmer.
She's a pretty girl

While Hoover was in class today, Dan took her for socialisation around the grounds

She was best restless and pacing today so I tethered her to my desk

She's smart and catches on fast and has learned to chill out so as I type right now, she's playing with a toy in the dog bed near my desk. Dan and I are very pleased we don't have to tether or crate her and she seems happy to chill out.

She has no food manners but is learning to wait. We have been wondering about her hearing but she definitely seems to be able to hear. I've been practising sit and drop with her. She is food motivated but it's taking her a little while to understand what I want. I have no doubt she'll learn fast though.
