Frida the Foster Dog: Day 9 - 30 September 2012

A very busy and exciting day for little Frida today :)

Last night, I fell asleep before putting Frida back in the crate :P

I did wake up and pop her in her crate though. I set my alarm to go off after 3 hours and then 4 hours. She wasn't so crazy about sleeping in this morning though - I think she knew it was going to be an existing day.

Socialisation is very important for puppies - it's tricky when a puppy is underaged like Frida. So all we can do is carry her around, expose her to lots of people, new experiences and as many friendly, well-behaved vaccinated dogs as possible. I do not like Puppy Classes run at vet clinics very much. They tend to be free for alls where they just let all of the puppies play together without intervention and it can end up making your dog nervous or hyper. To this day, Elbie cannot go into to the vet without going crazily hyperactive.

First we drove out to Bungendore to let Frida play at Ollie's new family. They have a 9 year old cattle dog, Ollie himself and two young daughters, five and one year old. It went well.

Frida and her favourite AWDRI tug:

Frida with the girls. Frida will be going to a home with children so I'm pleased that she played nice with the girls.

On the way home, we stopped by Emma's house so that Frida could play with Ava and Satchmo. Here she is after a romp with Ava:

Here she is crashed out after a long and exciting day:
