More photos of Jerry out and about :)
Things have been crazy busy so I haven't uploaded poor Jerry's blog as much as I should have.
Handsome Jerry.

Jerry - choosing to sunbake instead of toileting :)

Day bed was off limits to dogs until the laundry was done ... but then we found a cheeky black dog making himself at home. He looks so innocent. To be fair, Dan's not sure if Jerry knocked the cardboard down or if they just fell down

Jerry sunbaking again

We've started taking Jerry to weekend obedience classes with Alyssa Rankin. Belconnen Dog Obedience Club wouldn't let us bring Jerry there. Even though we've been members for five years and have taken three of our own dogs through to gold level, they won't let us enrol foster dogs there as 'one' dog a year. They want us to enrol each dog as a new dog even though we might only have the dog a few weeks. It makes no sense. It's frustrating but then we found out about Alyssa's class which is great because it's every Sunday, the owners are savvy and respectful. Jerry is very, very stimulated by new situations and so we are working with him to try to get him to be more chilled.

This was during his second class. Did great with the loose leash walking, the sits and drops, the focus work. Was very distracted when we were weaving in between other dogs though. No lunging but he'd no longer take food and he wasn't focused on me anymore. Next time, we'll do a straight line instead of a weave.

I'm happy with his progress. We walked around the field with two of Lex's dogs from Belco Pets and he went well. Because he's so excitable, he needs careful introductions to new dogs and there's no guarantee he will like all dogs, but as the trainers keep pointing out to me - we don't like all people, we can't assume dogs will like all dogs, so it's a matter of being vigilant.
He's chilled at home though. Mega chilled :)

We don't want to leave Jerry unattended in the yard anymore but it feels wrong to crate him all the time when we're out so last Saturday when we were playing board games, we brought him and Dodge with us and they hung out outside the door as we ate dinner and then played Pandemic: Legacy with friends

Fenceline has finally been boosted. Our fence was far too low for Jerry - only 1.48 metres at its lowest point :( We have now boosted to 6 foot fences which will hopefully quell his desire to explore next door!

Car travel is going ok but he's still a bit noisy and excited. I'm trying Rescue Remedy to see if that can calm him more and Alyssa will be working with us on his car excitement :)
